If you’re looking for things to do in Augusta, Maine, we have ideas for you. The 180-foot dome of the State House, constructed of Maine granite, is one of the most distinguishing architectural features of the capital city of Augusta. You can learn more about Maine and Augusta at The Maine State Museum, which is adjacent to the State House. You can also visit Old Fort Western, the oldest surviving wooden fort in Maine and New England, built in 1754. Benedict Arnold used this fort as a staging point for his assault on Quebec during the American Revolution.

Augusta, Maine and the surrounding Kennebec Valley are the perfect places to visit for both a cultural and relaxing vacation.
