Sail Seabird offers coastal sailing voyages on the east coast, based out of Portland, Maine. Step away from your day-to-day and come explore by sea! Our multi-day voyages give you time to immerse yourself in live-aboard sailing and build your confidence on the water. Free from a curriculum, we meet you where you are and cultivate an inclusive, safe, and fun learning environment so everyone can grow.
Seabird was specifically built for sail training by the US Naval Academy in 1990. We bought the boat from the academy in the spring of 2022 and are ready to take you sailing! This boat is the perfect platform for building sailing skills, teamwork, coastal cruising knowledge, and confidence. It also provides the unique opportunity to spend a handful of days and nights in the peace of nature and good shipmates. Most trips will be open to all, but some will be specifically geared towards high school aged kids, and some will be offered to women.
