Len Libby Candies

Home of Lenny, the world’s only life-sized chocolate moose (and yes, he really is life-sized!), Len Libby Candies is a “Do-Not-Miss Destination” during your visit to Maine! Founded in 1926 and owned by the same family since 1949, we adhere to traditional recipes and techniques handed down through generations. If you want to take home a piece of truly authentic “Maine,” you must get a box of our Needhams. Needhams are a regional favorite that many Maine candymakers make, but only Len Libby Candies makes them with fresh coconuts that we crack, peel, shave and cook by hand. We handmake dozens of other chocolates and confections as well, plus we carry a wide selection of Maine gifts and souvenirs, including t-shirts, hats and tote bags; mugs and other drinkware; stickers, magnets, puzzles, playing cards and books. While you’re browsing, you can enjoy free samples of select candies and take photos with Lenny. Or if you just need to stretch your legs and take a bathroom break, you’re free to use our clean, ADA-compliant public bathrooms, or play hop-scotch on our giant map of the United States, which we've painted on our pavement! We are conveniently located on U.S. Route 1 just 9 miles south of Portland and two miles off I-95 at Exit 42. We are also close to many of Maine's best beaches and water parks; Portland Headlight Lighthouse, Two Lights State Park and Scarborough Marsh; and many great seafood restaurants and local ice-cream vendors. Heading in or out of Maine, we are on the way — not out of the way — and we welcome you! We look forward to seeing you soon!
