Tour de la Vallee (Cycling Race)

Please join us on August 28, 2021 for our 32st Annual Tour De La Vallee! Bring your family and friends to ride or walk/run with you on the grand tour of the St. John River Valley. In its 31st year, the Tour de la Vallee promises to be a challenge for all riders.

8:00 AM Registration @ Fort Kent Pavilion on Sunday, August 28th.

Bikers/Motorcyclists can choose to ride a Century (100 miles), a Metric Century (62 miles), a Half-Century (50 miles), a Quarter Century (25 miles) or a 35-mile Mountain Bike route. Walkers/Runners can choose to complete 3, 5, or 10 kilometers. All routes are fully supported with rest stops stocked with various different items such as water, beverages, and healthy snacks.

In August 2020, we held our very first Virtual Tour due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, while hosting a live Tour, we decided to offer a Virtual Tour for those who can't make the trip to the beautiful St. John Valley. Virtual participants are encouraged to share their progress by posting to Facebook regular updates of their progress, selfies, or photos of the scenery along your Tour route by using #ejpvirtualtour.

Those of you who have participated in the past, we would like to thank you for taking part in our event and we look forward to your participation this year. As always, we welcome new participants.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Complete the online registration form here or click here to view hard copy. Return it to us with your registration fee of $20.00. We will send you a packet of information, including pledge sheets and other Tour information. Immediate family members (living in the same household) of three or more will have a combined fee of $50.00. (Ex. Mom, dad, kids). Please note: On site registration will be $25.00. Household of three or more will have a combined fee of $60.00.

Collect Pledges - Start soliciting pledges from family members, friends, colleagues and businesses. Individuals are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100.00 in pledges to ride or walk/run in the Tour. Registrants under the age of 16 are encouraged to raise a minimum of $50.00 in pledges to ride or walk/run in the Tour.

One hundred percent of all money raised goes directly to support local cancer patients and their families.

PRIZES & OTHER INFORMATION

If you raise $100 or more in pledges, you will receive a free Tour de la Vallée t-shirt.

A prize will be given to the 15 year old and under and the 16 year old plus who raises the most pledge money.

FOR YOUR SAFETY

If you are a biker, we require that all participants wear an ANSI or Snell approved bicycle helmet. As usual, participants who are biking should make sure their bicycles are in good operating condition.

ABOUT THE EDGAR J. PARADIS CANCER FUND

The Edgar J. (Guy) Paradis Cancer Fund ( a service of Northern Maine Medical Center), Fort Kent, Maine, is a non-profit venture that provides support services to families from the St. John Valley who have been afflicted with cancer. The Fund provides financial assistance for travel and lodging of family members so they can accompany the cancer patient when treatment away from the St. John valley is necessary.

The Fund also sponsors a monthly support group for cancer patients and their families and an educational program that is open to cancer patients, families, friends, and service providers from throughout The St. John Valley. The Fund gets its money for these services from charitable donations and fund-raising activities such as this exciting bicycle tour.
