Ski or snowshoe hike the McLellan Poor Preserve with the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition. March 9 at 10 am. Free for all.

On Saturday, March 9, the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition’s monthly outing will be at the McLellan Poor Preserve, a Coastal Mountains Land Trust property in Northport. The trail runs beside the Lower Belfast Reservoir on the Northport side, and then into forested land, crossing Ramsey Brook. Meet at 10:00 am at the small parking lot between the Belfast Water District and Little River Veterinary Hospital on Northport Ave., Route 1. Bring water, lunch, warm layers. 338-1147 for more information. The Belfast Bay watershed consists of 4 watersheds: the Little River watershed, 17.2 sq. miles; the Passagassawakeag River watershed, 50.6 sq. miles; Wescot Stream watershed, 19.8 sq. miles; and the Goose River watershed, 21.2 sq. miles, for a total Belfast Bay watershed of 108.8 sq. miles.
