An ensemble with “technical finesse and rare expressive maturity” (The New Yorker), Jupiter String Quartet is an important voice in chamber music having performed in venues including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, London’s Wigmore Hall, Boston’s Jordan Hall, and Washington, D.C.’s Kennedy Center. In this program, the quartet explores Wynton Marsalis’ String Quartet, a spectacular work that evokes people, places, and events in New Orleans.

GRAMMY award winning pianist Michelle Cann is "technically fearless with…an enormous, rich sound” (La Scena Musicale). She is the recipient of the 2022 Sphinx Medal of Excellence and embraces a dual role as performer and pedagogue. In this Friday night café concert, Michelle celebrates the vast legacy of Florence Price and Margaret Bonds, whose extraordinary music was either neglected in their lifetimes or abandoned after their deaths but embodies so much startling innovation, beauty and meaning.

They come together to end their Resonance program with the final movement of Amy Beach’s exuberant Piano Quintet.
