Portland Chamber Music Festival Artist Talk — Bartók: Paths Not Taken

3/7/24

A fascinating artist talk on the string quartets of Hungarian composer Béla Bartók.

Borromeo String Quartet first violinist Nicholas Kitchen distills his study of original manuscripts at the Bartók Archive in Budapest into a fascinating multimedia tour, centered around recently rediscovered alternate movements Béla Bartók drafted for his string quartets. This event in Rines Auditorium at the Portland Public Library is part of the Portland Chamber Music Festival’s inaugural Winter Warmer Festival, and is free and open to the public.

Don’t miss the Borromeo String Quartet’s concert of Bartók and Beethoven later at 7 PM in USM's Hannaford Hall in Portland! Tickets + more info at pcmf.org.
