Of Seances and Spirits - Supernatural Kennebunk Saturday, October 5th at 5PM-8PM The Brick Store Museum’s historic Kimball House will set the stage for guests to embark on a mesmerizing journey into the realm of the supernatural to discover the story of Mina Crandon, whose séances captivated early 20th century Boston. First-person historical interpreter Laura Rocklyn will portray Mina, also known as the “Witch of Lime Street,” in this entertaining and historically informed séance. Explore the lives of Harry Houdini, the escape artist determined to debunk fraudulent mediums, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the mind behind Sherlock Holmes and a passionate believer in spiritualism. Surrounding the immersive Séance experience, you will tour the Museum’s 19th century buildings to discover real-life connections to the great beyond in the Museum’s collections; and discover Victorian Kennebunk’s love of contacting “the other side.” Indulge in heavy appetizers, learn your fate from a Tarot reader, see how Kennebunk’s Upper Square hosted its share of seances, and catch a reading of a local ghost story by actor Richard McGonagall. Tickets include at-your-own-pace activities described above and a timed slot for your exclusive séance with Mina Crandon. This intimate experience will take you deeper into the rituals and beliefs that connected these extraordinary figures, bringing the mysteries of the Victorian era to life.
