Runner’s World Magazine picked up the story shortly after, and as they say, the rest is history!
The only requirement for runners is to generously support local businesses and contribute to the Katahdin region in some way.

Although the race is free for participants, we do have some essential race services we need to fund. These costs include: insurance, bib numbers, race timing, bus transportation, port-a-johns, as well as a few other professional services. Anything raised above and beyond our essential race expenses will be donated to Millinocket area charitable groups or organizations.
