A Little Closer to Nowhere
The Floating Nomad offers immersive eco-travel experiences on our houseboats, NOMAD + ROAM. Come wake up the call of loons, enjoy dark sky sanctuary star gazing, and discover the art of unplugging from shore.
Our simple - but comfortably equipped - Houseboats are seasonally available for nightly stays from Memorial Day through mid-October.
NOMAD is our flagship – a painstakingly renovated 1968 Thunderbird Drift-R-Cruise Houseboat – and he’s always excited to meet other traveling souls (more on NOMAD’s journey to Maine here). ROAM, his little sister, is a custom-built ShantySkow created with upcycled materials, who loves getting her guests a little closer to the water.
Both Houseboats are extremely stable, quite bright and airy, and very comfy for up to four overnight guests on NOMAD and two overnight guests on ROAM. Even those uneasy around the water have told us that a stay on our boats is a friendly experience!
