Island Heritage Trust is a nonprofit land trust dedicated to conserving the natural, historic and cultural landscapes of the Deer Isle–Stonington area and surrounding islands. The organization protects open space, wildlife habitat, scenic shorelines and community landmarks that shape the character of the region.
Island Heritage Trust owns and manages numerous properties open to the public, offering walking trails, shoreline access and interpretive information related to local history and geology. Throughout the year, the trust hosts a variety of interactive and educational walks, talks and community programs that invite visitors to connect with the land and learn more about the area’s natural and cultural resources.
