Bates Dance Festival

Each summer the Bates Dance Festival presents six weeks of performances and events featuring internationally acclaimed contemporary dance and music artists. Founded in 1983, the Bates Dance Festival (BDF), a program of Bates College in Lewiston is acclaimed as one of America's most important contemporary dance centers. Each summer, BDF offers six weeks of performances and events featuring internationally acclaimed contemporary dance and music artists, as well as professional dance training, commissioning and outreach activities.
