Spindleworks

Spindleworks is a nonprofit art center that supports adults with disabilities through studio-based creative work. Located in Maine, the organization operates as a program of the Independence Association and provides shared studio and gallery space for more than 35 artists.

Artists work across a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, fiber and fabric arts, weaving, wood, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, poetry, music and performance. Artwork is exhibited in the on-site gallery and through commissions, with artists receiving the majority of proceeds from sales.
