Trio Lasell – Folk Songs on the Move

Performers‍ ‍

PHILIPP ELSSNER, violin

NORA WILLAUER, cello

MARLENE MCCARTHY, piano

Folk melodies have a wonderful habit of traveling. In this family concert, Trio Lasell follows tunes and dance rhythms across countries and instruments, exploring how composers have borrowed, remembered, and reinvented the music they heard around them. With violin, cello, and piano, the trio invites young audiences to listen for musical fingerprints: a melody that sounds like a song, a rhythm that makes you want to move, or a tune that returns wearing completely different clothes. Interactive, story-filled, and playful, this Muddy Boots concert shows how music can carry stories and traditions wherever it goes.
