Winter unfolds just steps from downtown Fort Kent at Lonesome Pine Trails, a community-driven destination for downhill skiing and snowboarding. Well-groomed trails wind through northern Maine terrain, with snowmaking on Founders, Garbonstingle, Maine and Reservoir trails helping maintain consistent conditions throughout the season. A T-bar provides access to the upper slopes, where skiers and riders can link into neighboring trail networks, including a route to the Fort Kent Outdoor Center and a return via the Green Bean Ski Trails. The lodge and base area sit within easy walking distance of local shops and restaurants, making it simple to pair time on the slopes with a visit to town. Operated as a nonprofit, Lonesome Pine Trails reflects the strong volunteer spirit of the Fort Kent community.
