25 Annual Capriccio Festival of Kites

Beginning at 9 am, this favorite end of summer celebration includes kite making and flying competition for children, as well as professional kite flying demonstrations. Children are offered the opportunity to design their own kites, and to enter them into a contest with multiple categories so that many prizes can be awarded. Kites may also be purchased at the beach so that everyone can participate. A true community event, Ogunquit Performing Arts is joined by sponsors Cricket's Corner Beach and Toy, Ogunquit Rotary, Kennebunk Savings, That Place in Ogunquit, and the Town of Ogunquit. The finale features the "Grand Ascension," a spectacular sight, where the sky is filled with all the day's kites.
