National Park Sea Kayak Tours

This locally owned sea kayaking outfitter offers small-group ecological trips along the remote west side of Mount Desert Island, an area known for quiet waters and minimal development. Routes avoid heavy boat traffic and large vessels, creating a calmer paddling experience centered on the island’s natural coastal environment.

Half-day trips are offered daily with morning, afternoon and sunset options. Paddlers spend approximately two and a half to three hours on the water, with a brief landing on a secluded beach or island. Wildlife sightings commonly include harbor seals, osprey, harbor porpoises, cormorants, bald eagles, loons and other seabirds.

All trips include kayaks, safety equipment, instruction and van shuttle service. Outings are led by professional, registered kayak guides, and beginners are welcome. The company has been locally owned and operated in Bar Harbor since 1993 and maintains a long-standing safety record.

The shop is located in downtown Bar Harbor, near Patagonia and a short walk from The Criterion Theatre.
