Mount Desert Island Ice Cream

Mount Desert Island Ice Cream makes homemade ice cream, sorbets and other frozen desserts in very small batches with the finest ingredients - no more than 5 gallons at one time.

The percentage of butterfat is high and the amount of air is kept at a minimum - the end result being a product that is dense, creamy, and rich. If we make a vanilla ice cream, we scrape the beans. If we make a chocolate, we use Callebaut Chocolate. If we make a sorbet, we use fresh fruit.

We sell our ice cream wholesale as well as retail at our two Bar Harbor locations and in Portland on 51 Exchange Street in the Old Port.
