Deer Isle Hostel offers eco-friendly accommodations on Deer Isle, set beside the ocean and next to a nature preserve. Lodging includes four secluded forest huts, a common cottage and rooms in the main hostel building, a hand-built, timber-framed house. All rooms are private, with most offering shared facilities.
The off-grid hostel is powered by solar energy and features a shared kitchen for guest use, an outdoor hot shower, Wi-Fi, a fire pit and expansive night skies for stargazing. A communal dinner is hosted four nights a week for an additional fee.
Kayak and canoe launching spots are nearby, with bike-friendly roads and hiking trails beginning at the hostel.
