Like the rest of the world, Maine businesses are navigating the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. We encourage you to check websites for your destinations before visiting for the latest health and safety guidelines in place, and please remember to be patient and kind while visiting.
Doubling Point
Doubling Point Light Station, built in 1898, is one of Maine's river lights. Most, like this one, light the Kennebec River. Doubling Point is privately owned, but you can access the grounds. Boat tours of this and several other river lights are available. This octagonal tower was placed where the main channel of the Kennebec turns sharply. It sits on a pier, connected to the shore by a walkway. For more information and directions, contact the Friends of the Doubling Point Light.
