Hot Air Ballooning
Riding in a hot-air balloon is a slow and gentle form of flight that affords you a 360-degree view of the landscape below. You’ll fly over forests, fields, towns and cities. The hour just after sunrise is typically the best time to enjoy a balloon flight, as the temperature is cool and the wind is usually ideal. Companies provide balloon rides throughout the state and at Maine's annual ballooning festivals, which include the Great Falls Balloon Festival and the Crown of Maine Balloon Festival.
