Fly High at Maine’s Aerial Adventure Parks

From soaring through the air on ziplines to navigating the technical challenges of sky-high adventure courses, take your thrills to a whole new level at aerial adventure parks in Maine—many of which are near popular destinations such as Bar Harbor, Kittery, Boothbay, Old Orchard Beach, and Portland.

Minutes away from Bar Harbor and the spectacular Acadia National Park, Wild Acadia Camping Resort in Trenton offers day passes for active travelers wishing to partake in the activities offered without staying on-site. Spend the day on water slides, a forest walk ropes course, an 800-foot zipline, climbing wall, mini golf and more.

Located in Kittery, Take Flight Aerial Adventure Course is the largest aerial adventure challenge and high-ropes course in Maine. The course offers more than 65 activities with elements of multi-vines, cat walks, bridges, tube nets, swinging tires and platforms. The adventure zipline tours feature three climbing elements and six ziplines on every tour. The ziplines range from 75–400 feet as you travel over bridges and cargo nets in between the zip wires.

Less than 20 minutes away from Boothbay Harbor in Wiscasset is Monkey C Monkey Do. They offer a full aerial adventure course and unique zipline course with a giant swing and over 60 elements in their ropes course where adventure seekers choose their level of difficulty. Perfect for the whole family, this park offers an introductory kid’s course for those under 12. If on-the-ground excitement is more your speed, Monkey C Monkey Do also offers tactical laser tag.

Not far from the famous Old Orchard Beach Pier is Sun Retreats Wild Acres, an RV resort offering day passes to their amenities which include an aerial adventure park featuring two high-ropes courses, a BMX track that has twists, turns, jumps, and obstacles, an 18-hole miniature golf course, over 30 acres of nature trails and a zipline course that allows you to soar over treetops.

Need to seek your aerial thrills on a rainy day or in the middle of winter? Located in the Maine Mall in South Portland is Jordan’s Furniture and the largest indoor ropes course in Maine. This unique sport offers 40 different activities including a log roll, angle rope ladders, floating line, cargo net, two ziplines and a kid-sized version of their ropes course—all under the largest LED ceiling in all of North America. The ropes course has four levels and more than 100 challenges including a zipline that allows you to soar over a liquid fireworks show.
