Constructed out of a former apartment house, it offers bunk rooms, spaces for individuals or couples and a shared kitchen built for cooks. The hostel is tucked into downtown, close to shops, restaurants and rest of the city’s attractions.
Deer Isle Hostel in Deer Isle in the DownEast & Acadia area, sits on a 17-acre farm and offers rooms in a main house and in small huts in the surrounding woods. The hostel operates off the grid. A communal dinner is offered for guests.
The Hostel of Maine is in Carrabassett Valley, a center for hiking, mountain biking and skiing in the Maine Lakes and Mountains region. The log lodge offers individual, family and group rooms. It’s near Sugarloaf Ski Resort, one of Maine’s largest.
