Located on beautiful Deer Isle with the ocean and a nature preserve next door, we offer eco-friendly accommodation in four secluded forest huts, our common cottage, and in the main building of the hostel -- a hand-made, timber-framed house. All rooms are private, and most have shared facilities. The hostel is off the grid, powered by solar energy, and features include a common kitchen for guest use, an outdoor hot shower, Wi-Fi, a fire pit, and all the stargazing you could want. We host a communal dinner 4 nights a week for $20 per person. Launching spots for kayaks and canoes are nearby. Good bike riding, hiking trails start at the hostel.
