Maine Huts & Trails is a nonprofit organization offering a free trail network in Western Maine with backcountry lodges available for bookings. Our non-motorized trails are ideal for skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking during the winter, and hiking, trail running and mountain biking in the summer. Along the trail are four backcountry eco-lodges available for trips and full hut rentals.
Our winter season runs from late December to late March, with hut to hut trips available and groomed trails for Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking. Our huts are open daily during the winter season and are staffed with a diverse hut crew. Public lunch is for sale on weekends, and we always offer free coffee, tea, and a woodstove to warm up at.
Summer delivers new offerings for the trail and huts. Our Flagstaff Lake Hut is available for full hut rentals for youth & community and private groups. Stratton Brook Hut will be booking self service, individual trip stays on weekends and be open for public lunch Saturday and Sunday. Trails are open for hiking, trail running and mountain biking.
