Maine Academy of Modern Music (MAMM)

The mission of the Maine Academy of Modern Music (MAMM) is to use the power of music to inspire students, foster creative collaboration, and strengthen community connections.

MAMM is a statewide non-profit dedicated to youth development through music education, focusing on pop, rock, and other contemporary genres. MAMM serves people aged 8 to 18, specifically committed to students facing challenges at home or in school, including language, cultural, social, learning, or income barriers. We offer opportunities that resonate with young people who may be outsiders or struggle with academic or sports-based programming. Our offerings provide a constructive and creative outlet that builds musical skills, confidence, emotional health, and social connections. Whether taking individual lessons or practicing in a rock band or ensemble, our students learn music in an environment that promotes personal growth, empowerment, and community. In addition to extra-curricular lessons and music summer camps, MAMM programming includes public concerts, free music festivals, and community programs.
