The Gooden Grant House in Head Harbor is an iconic historic home and island retreat. Some things change in 100 years--but much has not. Even with high speed Internet, there is still a quiet solitude in island living surrounded by spectacles of nature. Lobster fishing in Head Harbor is still best in the world, and wilderness extends for miles from the dooryard--as it always has. This is a retreat for writers and artists, a safe harbor and beach for children to explore, a starting place for breath-taking hikes, a launching place for kayakers, and a snug harbor mooring (up to 36') for sailors. The house accommodates 5 in three bedrooms--vacation rental by the day, week or month.
