Come visit a desert in the woods of Maine just 20 minutes north of Portland. Take a desert tour, hike through the woods, camp at the campground, play around at the kids playground, visit the 200 year old barn and enjoy refreshments at the Oasis Cafe. The Desert of Maine is a unique phenomenon with 40-acres of desert sand dunes formed from a glacial outwash during the Ice Age. Stay overnight in the quite, well kept campground with new cedar bath house, fire rings, picnic benches and firewood for sale. Tent and small RVs/trailers allowed.
