Cape Newagen Alpaca Farm

Nestled in North Yarmouth, Maine, Cape Newagen Alpaca Farm is a working fiber farm that combines alpaca husbandry, sheep farming, fiber arts, and agritourism. Originally established in Southport near Cape Newagen, our farm has grown into one of southern Maine's most distinctive destinations for visitors interested in animals, sustainable agriculture, and locally produced fiber products.

Our farm is home to a herd of alpacas as well as Finn and Cormo sheep, both raised primarily for their exceptionally soft fleece. Unlike many commercial fiber operations, we emphasize natural colors, producing yarn in a remarkable range of shades without relying on any synthetic dyes. Some of our products are also colored using natural dyes made from plants grown on the farm, highlighting our commitment to sustainable practices.

One of our farm's most popular attractions is our guided alpaca walks. Rather than simply observing the animals from a distance, visitors have the opportunity to walk alongside a haltered alpaca while learning about its behavior, history, and care.
