Annual sled dog races at Fort Kent Provide an expanded explanation of what this business or organization does, is known for, and the services offered.

The Can-Am Crown Sled Dog Races are held the first weekend in March each year. The races are celebrating 25 years of existence in 2017. Starting on Main Street in Fort Kent on March 4, 2017 are three races: 30-miles, 100-miles and a Classix 250-mile race through the northern Maine Woods. The shorter races finish the same day at the Lonesome Pine Ski Lodge, also in Fort Kent. Winners of the longer race arrive in the early mnring hours of Monday. A pre-race celebration is being held on Friday, February 18 in Fort Kent. The evening will feature a parade, and an evening at the Lonesome PIne Lodge starting at 6 p.m. The evenign will see a silent auction of paintings and photographs at sled dog racing, the launching of a song about sled dog racing and an evening of song and dance.
