Burnham Tavern Museum is a historic house museum in Machias recognized for its direct connection to the American Revolution. Built in 1770 by Job and Mary Burnham, the tavern is the oldest standing building in eastern Maine and one of a small number of homes in the United States associated with Revolutionary War history.

The museum interprets the role Burnham Tavern played during the conflict and explores daily life in colonial Maine through preserved architecture, period furnishings and historical context. Its significance lies in both its age and its place in the story of Maine’s early fight for independence.
