Seasonal Hours
The Abbe Museum is a museum of Wabanaki art, history and culture located in Bar Harbor, with two sites serving visitors year-round and seasonally.
Founded in 1926, the museum is dedicated to sharing the stories, traditions and contemporary voices of the Wabanaki Nations of Maine. Exhibits include both historical and contemporary works, with a focus on cultural continuity, artistic expression and lived experience.
The downtown Bar Harbor location is open year-round and features permanent and rotating exhibitions, educational programming and visitor amenities. The original Sieur de Monts Spring site, located within Acadia National Park, is open seasonally and offers an immersive setting connected to the museum’s early history.
Together, the two locations provide opportunities to learn about Wabanaki culture through exhibitions, programs and collections rooted in Maine’s Midcoast and Downeast regions.
