Midday Music Series: Trio Oko
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15 | 1 - 2 PM
You probably haven't heard anything quite like Trio Oko. The eclectic harp trio is a rare bird in the chamber music world. And its three musicians use the unique instrumentation to dazzle. Trio Oko's program of early 20th Century French music weaves together the nuances of Jacques Ibert's Trio with the elegance of Henriette Renié's Trio.

Midday Music Series: Rasa String Quartet

In a program entitled Journey & Transformation, this Boston-based ensemble explores the musical space where classical and folk traditions intersect. From William Grant Still's mermaid fairytale to a lively Haydn quartet, Rasa String Quartet can be counted on to deliver a fresh, engaging performance that celebrates global traditions.

Zachary Sweet has developed a reputation as an adventurous chamber musician and champion of new music. Kerry Mizrahi has inspired audiences and students as an admired pianist and teacher. Making their Bay Chamber debut, Zach and Kerry's Midday Music program offers an intimate exploration of resonance and imagination. It features works by Bach, Schumann, William Grant Still, and others.

Midday Music Series: Halcyon String Quartet
FRIDAY, MARCH 28 | 1 - 1 pm
Well-known to Midcoast audiences from their many performances, and educational work through Bay Chamber Music School, Halcyon is a string quartet and a collective of socially engaged musicians. Their Midday Music performance is loosely inspired by the natural world. It features Mozart's String Quartet No. 21 in D Major, K. 575, Richter's On the Nature of Daylight, the 4th movement of Caroline Shaw's The Evergreen entitled Root, El Grillo by Josquin des Prez, and a set of Danish folk tunes.

Midday Music Series: Adam Swanson, piano
WEDNESDAY, MAY 7 | 1 - 2 PM
Adam Swanson, one of the world's foremost pianists, is back by popular demand. The music historian is a six-time winner of the World Championship Old-Time Piano Player Contest. As audiences who attended his concert last season know, this will be a rollicking ride through American popular music by a consummate entertainer.
