DownEast New Music: Thanksong

DownEast New Music presents Thanksong, an evening of new chamber music for soprano, string quartet, double bass, and piano. Built around Cassandra Miller's intimate and magnetic Thanksong for soprano and string quartet, this program looks inwards and examines how even small gestures can have major emotional impact. Whether through the sensuous intimacy of Amy Beth Kirsten's yes I said yes I will Yes, or the obscured melodrama of Tomás Gueglio's Murlmenszenen, this will be an evening of novel and unforgettable music.

For Thanksong, DownEast New Music's Co-Artistic directors Clare Monfredo (cello), Edward Kass (double bass), and Conrad Winslow (piano) are joined by returning violinists Robert Anemone and Lilit Hartunian, Maine's own Kal Sugatski (viola), and award-winning international opera singer Nina Guo.
