Hopeful, funny, sad, and true, Darker the Night, Brighter the Stars is an interconnected collection of short plays about identity, love, loss, lack, hope for the future, making wishes, and learning that there's light even when it's really, really dark. Written by Maine's beloved playwright, John Cariani, this play revisits the town created in his classic Almost, Maine.
Cariani will offer a writing workshop in the Opera House lobby on Monday, August 3 from 1-4pm. This workshop is free and open to all ages. No writing experience necessary. To sign up please fill out the form on the website.
A talkback with the author will take place following the performance on Thursday, August 6 at approximately 9pm. All members of the community are welcome to attend and do not need to be a ticket holder.
Sponsored by Joan & David Maxwell, the Anahata Foundation, the Maine Community Foundation Theater Fund, and the Davis Family Foundation.
