Captain Bennis House is a historic lodging property built in 1875 and located along the Schoodic National Scenic Byway, overlooking Frenchman Bay and Mount Desert Island. The Down East–style home sits about 15 minutes from Ellsworth, with convenient access to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

Guests stay in the Captain’s Quarters, a two-level suite located in the front of the property’s carriage house. The suite faces south toward the bay and features period details including wide pine floors, beadboard walls and ceilings, and a traditional mantle. The first level includes a living area, kitchen and half bath, with sleeping space and a full bath on the upper level.
