Portland Lobster
Meander along the working waterfront in Downtown Portland and treat yourself to Maine lobster, all day long!
Morning
Go ahead, start your day with a lobster omelet at Becky’s Diner. This is where locals gather each and every morning on Hobson’s Wharf. And yes, Becky has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives!
Book a 1 ½ hour tour on Casco Bay with Lucky Catch or Rocky Bottom and try your hand at hauling a lobster trap.
Afternoon
Take the lobster roll taste test at Luke’s Lobster and/or Eventide, where both serve tasting size rolls. As a bonus, during the off season (no July and August), you can paint a lobster buoy for a cause at Luke’s Lobster, and proceeds help support the Maine Coast Fisherman’s Association.
To work off your midday lobster snack, get out and explore downtown along Portland Trails or take the Portland Landmarks self-guided walking tour of Portland’s working waterfront.
Day’s End
Have your pick of a Maine lobster dinner, from the classic DiMillo’s (with spectacular views from the foredeck), to Pai Men Miyake for a Spicy Maine Lobster Roll (as in sushi) and Lobster buns (currently curbside pick-up only), to the award-winning Street and Company.
