Squat and square, with the black nub of a light on top, Egg Rock Light is said to be the homeliest lighthouse on the Maine coast. The station was built in 1875. You can best view this lighthouse by boat. You can also view it by car from the Schooner Head parking lot, which is off Park Loop Road in the Bar Harbor section of Acadia National Park.
