Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop

Skidompha Secondhand Book Shop is a volunteer-run bookstore in downtown Damariscotta offering more than 22,000 donated books for readers of all ages. Shelves are filled with hardcover and paperback titles across dozens of genres, along with audiobooks, music, movies, puzzles and records. Located in the light-filled rooms of Backstreet Landing overlooking the Damariscotta River, the shop welcomes longtime patrons alongside new generations of browsers. Every purchase supports Skidompha Public Library, making the shop one of the library’s most important fundraisers. Staffed entirely by volunteers, the store reflects a shared commitment to literacy, community and reuse, with donations accepted during open hours.
