Founded in 1980, Portland Ballet is the region’s professional ballet company – presenting a wide range of classical, neoclassical, and contemporary works, and programs that invite communities into the art of ballet from multiple vantage points.
Our affiliated Portland School of Ballet is home to the leading classical training in the State, taught by our professional faculty members using a Vaganova-based curriculum. We help dancers reach their own goals, while developing artistry, musicality, and lifelong skills – in environments that are healthy, accessible, and supportive.
Portland Ballet is human-centered in all that it does: from its subject matter, to its medium, to the dozens it employs and the thousands it engages. We nurture the next generation of dancers, dance students, and dance enthusiasts, and strive to engage everyone interested in the joys and possibilities of ballet.
