Balfour Farm is pleased to be able to invite you to Open Farm Day in 2022! Doug and Heather invite you to join us for a day of exploring Maine farms- on our off-the-grid organic dairy farm, you can: see the animals, barns and cheese room, and taste the cheeses we make. Our farm store, The Little Cheese Shop, will be outside for the day, stocked with lots more Maine goodness, more cheeses, beer, wine, crackers etc.!
Our family has joined us on the farm- in 2020, Tiny Acres Farm, our daughter and her partner, will be giving tours of their mixed vegetable operation and mushroom woodlot.
Our mini farmers market will include area farmers:
Eureka Farms: with honey and maple products
Olde Haven Farm: perserves, pickles and farm raised specialty pork sausages
Gryffon Ridge Spice Merchants: specialty culinary spice blends
and more....
Drafty Acres will be providing horse drawn wagon rides
Live music scheduled
The Pittsfield Fire Department will have concessions available
Tiny Acres Farm has partnered with Maillard Kitchen to provide farm to table fare
