Lighthouse & nature cruises, historic sites, exhibitions & more!

Maine Maritime Museum, located on the banks of the scenic Kennebec River in Bath, offers activities for all ages. Our 20-acre waterfront campus includes the only intact historic shipyard in the country. Enjoy one of our daily lighthouse cruises or trolley tours (May-October); feel what it's like to stand at the top of a lighthouse in Into the Lantern: A Lighthouse Experience; marvel at the life-size sculpture of the schooner Wyoming; tour the Victorian-era Donnell House; or explore our air-conditioned galleries. Lots of activities for kids, including a pirate playship and tugboat pilot house. Open year-round, daily, 9:30 am–5:00 pm.

New! Join us for the Burnt Island Lighthouse Adventure!

Board our 50-passenger tour boat, cruise the winding Sasanoa River through Hell’s Gates and Townsend Gut to Burnt Island at the head of Boothbay Harbor. Spend at least 30 minutes ashore exploring this historic five-acre island’s nature trails, the 1857 keeper’s house, and the still-active 1821 rubble stone light tower (open for the duration of the visit), or simply bring along a late-day lunch at the picnic tables and marvel in the beauty of the island.

The return trip will pass two additional lighthouses, Cuckolds Island Light and Hendricks Head Light, weather permitting. Two days of museum admission is included with your purchase.
