Hirundo Wildlife Refuge

Hirundo is a 2,400 acre nature preserve, spanning Pushaw and Dead Streams, and Lac D'Or (lake). The Refuge encompasses land ranging from extensive peat lands, reverting farm lands, flood plain forests, and upland conifer and deciduous forests. We welcome the public to explore seven miles of hiking trails, paddle along the waterways observing beaver, mink, and numerous birds, all FREE.

Our mission is to protect, understand and enjoy Hirundo’s natural and cultural environment for the mutual well-being of our human and wildlife communities.
