Gorgeous hand-crafted lodge and restaurant overlooking the Dead River in West Forks.

Come and relax and enjoy beautiful riverside lodges. From our great rooms with large screen TVs and spacious lounging areas, to our cozy bedrooms, you’ll be glad you stayed with us.

You will wake up to the sound of the Dead River in the peaceful town of the West Forks, Maine each morning before you head off to your day’s adventure. These river side lodges are great for romantic getaways, family vacations and for groups of all sizes.

Come enjoy a relaxing meal by our fireplace or on our deck overlooking the Dead River. We pride ourselves on specialty drinks, a robust menu, and a unique and comforting atmosphere.

When you visit the Hawk’s Nest, you’ll see first-hand the unique construction, and distinct chainsaw carvings throughout the lodge. On the front deck that overlooks the Dead River, there are many wildlife carvings, that serve a structural purpose, as well as, being enjoyable to look at.

Our lodge is a one-of-a-kind design, custom built by owner, Pete Dostie. The wood carvings are the creative work of Maine Guide, Jeff Samudosky, who is annually ranked as one of the nations best chainsaw carvers.

In 2009, Sarah and Pete expanded the Hawk’s Nest to include four new suites. With more demand this grew to six by 2016. 2019 brought two more suites to the lodge- bringing our grand total to eight.

The lakes and mountains of western Maine offer a true wilderness playground. Sarah and Pete welcome you to come, explore, and create memories in Maine’s great outdoors!
