Overlooking Spectacular East Penobscot Bay are two sophisticatedly rustic cottages.

On a hill overlooking East Penobscot Bay are two sophisticatedly rustic cottages. They are ideally situated, close to the sea, in the heart of the Blue Hill Peninsula. Here, the scents of the sea and pine, the sounds of ocean birds overhead (eagles and osprey) and sights of porpoise and seals will lullaby you with the beauty of nature. Our ocean swimming beach is just a short walk away and the hiking trail through the old quarry to Lookout Rock (250' above the sea) is very close. On the Blue Hill Peninsula are many good restaurants, art galleries, parks and nature preserves. Woodenboat School, Kneisel Hall School of Music, and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Castine Maritime Academy's Training Ship are among my favorite attractions, but there are many, many others. In one direction is Blue Hill (11 miles), in another is Stonington (25 miles), in another is Brooklin (10 miles), and in another is Castine Each cottage (pick either Lone PIne Cottage or Crow's Nest Cottage) has a full kitchen, two bedrooms that can sleep 4, washer/drier, living room with real wood burning fireplace, dining area, and covered porch overlooking the sea. The hide-a-bed sofa in the living room can sleep 2 more cozily. These cottages retain the peaceful authenticity and flavor of "old Maine" yet have the comforts of more contemporary life. Access: drive down a quiet gravel road, through the Oakland House* complex which has been in my family for generations. *I sold Oakland House to my husband's cousin last year, but kept these special family cottages just for you.
