Crown of Maine Balloon Festival

The Crown of Maine Balloon Festival is a bright and sunny time here in Northern Maine!

The festival was born as part of the 2004 Isle Fest, when local pilot Dena Winslow and pilot Bill Whelan from Ontario convinced the then Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce to give it a try. In 2006, the name was changed to the Crown of Maine Balloon Fest.

Since then the festival has continued to grow and has seen some of the best flying around. With many of our pilots claiming that The County is one of their favorite places to fly, due to the beautiful landscapes and friendly folks.

Most events are free and take place at the Northern Maine Fairgrounds. With a family friendly focus and many opportunities for beauty, the Crown of Maine Balloon Fest has become a favorite part of summer in The County.

Every summer we celebrate the last weekend in August. Find complete event details here.

NORTHERN MAINE FAIRGROUNDS The majority of our events will be held at the Northern Maine Fairgrounds in Presque Isle.
