Locally created pottery, sculpture and photography by April Adams and Dana McEacharn
Lupine, wildflower & seaside designs are skillfully painted on hand made earthenware pottery and tiles. Made for everyday use, our classic colors on a clean white glaze is lead free. Take home a mug and remember Maine with your morning coffee. Each piece is hand thrown or hand built by April Adams and Dana McEacharn in their Washington county studios. Featured are Dana's sculptural and bas-relief castings portraying down east life. Cast in Forton MG with a bronze finish, his desk size work depicts traditional resourced based occupations. Clocks, tide clocks and commemorative plaques of local subjects are wonderful gifts that connect with rural down east Maine life. Established in 1990 in Columbia Falls, Maine, Columbia Falls Pottery moved to Machias in 2016. In addition to our fine pottery, visitors will find hand made pottery ornaments, photography and cards beautifully displayed in a vintage setting. Careful packing for travel, gift wrap and shipping services are available for the traveler. The artists are most often in the store and enjoy sharing their local knowledge with their guests. The Machias shop at 4 Main Street, Route 1, is located at the east end of the Machias river bridge. Parking is available around the corner from both directions. Our neighbors include the Burnham Tavern Museum, antique, wine & cheese shops, cafe and natural food store. It's a short walk to Bad Little Falls Overlook Park, two art and craft galleries, and a unique old fashioned hardware store. Stay awhile and enjoy our small Maine community! www.columbiafallspottery.com
