Boothbay Railway Village
Mid-19th-Mid-20th Century Village. Narrow Gauge Trains, Antique Car Collection, Maine History, & Artisan Demonstrations.
No destination like this one in New England: a living museum, a village of authentic period structures, trains, autos and more - plus artisan demonstrations. Travel back in time to vintage Maine. Ride the rails behind a vintage steam or diesel locomotive surrounded by historic Maine buildings preserved in an assembled village of preserved Maine structures, including a still-functioning Town Hall, a chapel still used for weddings, preserved railway train stations and residential and commercial structures of that period.
Your admission ticket includes the opportunity to experience any of our unique, interactive activities offered during your visit such as steam train rides, Model T rides, and more. While artisan programs change daily, and no specific program is ever guaranteed, experience blacksmith and artisan demonstrations, hands-on history lessons for kids, and specialty tours.
Throughout the season a wide variety of special events are hosted on the Village Green from vintage ball games to car shows and family festivals. Check out the event calendar on the Museum's website for a complete schedule.
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome to visit the Museum throughout the season including all Museum special events. Located in the beautiful coastal community of Boothbay.
