Acadia East Campground offers a quiet, rustic tent camping experience just north of the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park. Located about 10 minutes from the park entrance, this self-serve campground is designed for campers seeking a more remote, back-to-basics stay away from crowds. A small number of primitive tent sites are set along forest trails, with distances ranging from a short walk to a longer carry from the parking area. Amenities are intentionally minimal and include a vault-style restroom and an information kiosk at the entrance. Dog friendly and reservation-based, Acadia East Campground provides a peaceful base for exploring coastal Downeast Maine, sunrise hikes, rocky shorelines and the less-traveled side of Acadia.
