Maine's beloved festival of giant pumpkins blends the art of growing giant pumpkins (the current record for the State of Maine is 2,121 pounds) with whimsical pumpkin art-decorated, painted, sculpted, the pumpkin parade, pumpkin derby, dessert competition, a regatta in hollowed out pumpkins, motorized and non-motorized divisions, and more pumpkin play. This zany festival weekend includes street performers, great food, and simple fun throughout the Indigenous Peoples holiday weekend.
